Dr. Ossama Ramadan
Dr. Ramadan is a highly-qualified, professionally-credentialed Civil Engineer serving the national need for reliable, efficient, sustainable, and resilient transportation systems. His expertise spans three countries and was developed through a projects portfolio that involved Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E); Proposal development; Project planning; Project controls management; Contract management; Traffic studies; Traffic analysis; Traffic simulation; Transportation performance measurement; Transportation data analytics; Highway operations and traffic control; Work zone traffic control; Highway safety; Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS); Mobility as a Service (MaaS); Connected/Autonomous vehicles; GIS applications for transportation; Sustainable Infrastructure; Highway design; and Construction oversight.

Dr. Ramadan’s expertise is backed up by world-class Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with concentration in Transportation Engineering, registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) with current NCEES Record, Envision® Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) certification, and the industry-standard Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification.

Currently, Dr. Ramadan serves as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the UAB Transportation Engineering and Development Laboratory, where he conducts applied-research to improve the reliability and efficiency of passenger travel and freight movement on the national highway system. In addition, Dr. Ramadan’s research supports the national strategic need for targeted investments aiming to improve the transportation experience of all travelers.
